The 5+ A Day Charitable Trust were proud sponsors of the National Secondary Schools Culinary Challenge (NSSCC) this year and congratulate Burnside High School for taking out the grand prize and scholarship.
The students were judged on their culinary skills, product understanding, presentation, cooking and most importantly how their dishes tasted.
Each team produced outstanding entrées highlighting New Zealand beetroot and main dishes celebrating fresh vegetables. Showing that incorporating fresh fruit and vegetables remain on point in the culinary world.
There is no doubt there is a bright future ahead for all aspiring chefs involved.
