During the last 12 months United Fresh has worked with the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) on developing a document template suitable for all wholesale markets, retail produce distribution centres and produce merchants receiving fruit and vegetables into their premises for redistribution to retail outlets, branches, members or directly to the consumer. MPI have now approved our template and it is ready for implementation.
United Fresh will therefore hold a two-hour workshop on Thursday 10th November where The AgriChain Centre’s Biosecurity Manager, Bevan Ceran, will introduce the template and offer practical advice on how to integrate Fruit Fly Emergency Response behaviours into your sites’ already existing disaster recovery plans.
This is a technical workshop and most suited for distribution or logistics managers, site supervisors or, if your site is already approved as a Transitional Facility under the Biosecurity Act for receiving and devanning imported produce sea containers, the Transitional Facility Operator (TFO) and a competent Accredited Person (AP).
United Fresh acknowledges The AgriChain for pro-bono services provided for this project.
