Fresh Produce Safety Centre A-NZ - Guidelines for Fresh Produce Food Safety 2019

Purpose

These guidelines are designed to achieve greater consistency in the development, implementation and auditing of fresh produce food safety programs. They are applicable to all supply chain businesses, from the producer to the end customer, as well as suppliers of inputs and services.

Input has been sought from a range of industry members with experience and expertise in food safety issues.

“Food safety culture in good shape but more to do” April 2019

On the 3rd December 2018 the Consumers’ Right to Know (Country of Origin of Food) Act was passed. This Act will require fresh or frozen fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and seafood to have Country of Origin Labelling (CoOL).
